Episode 09: Race, Gender, & Other Things

In episode 09, we spoke with Nathan and Sadie about the Rachel Dolezal controversy as compared to Caitlyn Jenner's story and discussed the official replacement of "gender identity disorder" with "gender dysphoria" in the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders. During that conversation, Nathan told us about a Lutheran pastor who recently revealed his experience with gender dysphoria. You can read more about his story on his blog. For more on this topic, also check out this article on gender dysphoria and transgenderism by psychology professor Mark Yarhouse.

Please get in touch with us if you have something you want to add to this conversation. We'd love to read your comment during our inbox segment or even have you on the show to share your perspective.

We also chatted about fun activities and sports to enjoy outdoors, particularly in the summer. If you're looking for a real challenge, here's the article we mentioned on the growing number of aerial ropes courses, or "treetop parks." If you want something a little more leisurely, check out these three sites and this article dedicated to glamping, otherwise known as glamorous or luxury camping.

What do you like to do outside during the summer? Anything we didn't mention and/or should try? Let us know!
